A Little Background
How we got started!
The founders over coffee were discussing the issues plaguing Indian transportation infrastructure. What does the travelling public want? What does the local community want? What do policy makers want?
We realized both companies and government looked at the problem from their individual core strengths. In case of government, budgets, engineering, and a DPR led project report. In case of private companies, they looked at it through innovative financing techniques or value engineering. There was no market participant who started from the customer, the passenger or local resident, and radiated through project development structure.
Over the upcoming months we discussed partnerships and financing, how to get world-class architectural design at Indian prices, how to bring new services to the customer and most importantly how to structure the project so that risk is distributed to various stakeholders.
We decided to create a company staffed with senior empowered executives across multiple sectors and creating a network of industry partners that will share the risk and reward with us as we execute our business plan.
The Name
The Company is named after the Egyptian deity of Thoth. Thoth, the son of Ra, is the deity of architecture and design, medicine, and the patron saint of literature. It emphasizes our focus on projects where design differentiation is a key to success.
